At just 23, Ume Kulsoom, an MSc Zoology student, turned her love for unique noodles and Korean dishes into a profitable business. With foodpanda’s HomeChef program, her passion project, DumplingBar.pk, took off, helping her earn while managing a full academic load.

Balancing studies and a restaurant isn’t easy, but foodpanda’s flexible menu and scheduling options have made it manageable. Operating independently without family support, Ume adjusts her hours around her classes, handling all aspects of the business herself. This experience has empowered her, providing both financial independence and invaluable life skills.

Ume calls foodpanda her “favourite app,” as it has enabled her to merge studies and her culinary dream, establishing her brand in Lahore. As her popularity grows, she’s even considering opening a second branch, a testament to her resilience and ambition.

Final-year medical student Miss Rana started her home-based venture, Kitchen King, hoping to achieve self-dependence. Initially, her mother was hesitant, but after long discussions, she agreed.
