She contributes to WWD (Women\u2019s Wear Daily) among other publications, and is currently the editor of Good Times magazine. Mahlia was valedictorian of her graduating class at the Lahore American School and attended university at Kinnaird College in Lahore, William Smith College in New York and Clark University in Massachusetts. She started her journalistic career as the assistant editor of the op\/ed pages for The Nation and became the features editor for The <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_490785971\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span> Times before she started writing for trade publications. Mahlia also maintained a blog for Matrix Sourcing, a textile buying house located in Lahore. Additionally, she has strategically planned creative lines for several home d\u00e9cor and fashion startups, and planned society fundraisers for philanthropic causes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodtimes.com.pk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Afshan-Shafi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-672\" src=\"http:\/\/www.goodtimes.com.pk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Afshan-Shafi.jpg\" alt=\"afshan-shafi\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Assistant Editor- Afshan Shafi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8216;Afshan Shafi lives in Lahore and has studied English Literature and International Relations at The University of Buckingham. She serves as an assistant editor for GoodTimes magazine.She is also an poetry editor for The Missing Slate and the forthcoming Aleph Review. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Poetry Wales, Blackbox Manifold, Flag + Void, Luna Luna, Clinic, 3am magazine, Ala Champ Magazine, Ink Sweat and Tears, Uut Poetry, Muse India, Full of Crow, Pour Vida, New Asian Writing, Black heart magazine amongst others. Her prose has appeared in Libas International, Pakistan Today and DailyTimes . Her debut chapbook of poems &#8216;Odd Circles&#8217; was published by Readings (Pakistan) in 2014. Her next collection of poetry titled &#8216;Quiet Women&#8217; (with illustrations by Samya Arif, Ishita Basu Mallik and Marjan Baniasadi) is forthcoming in 2017. She is a marketer and a fashion designer. After completing her A levels from Lahore Grammar School, she did \u00a0her undergrad in Finance and Mathematics. She has always been incredibly interested in fashion. She started her own clothing line in 2014. She is famous for her attention to detail in heavily embellished couture pieces. She is currently heading GT Karachi sector. She is a self proclaimed sunshine duchess and a dangerously optimistic being. When not writing or planning shoots for GT she works as a clinical supervisor for a company, she is also the Director of business development and PR for an ad agency.
