Multan:<\/strong> LADIESFUND launched in Multan with a who’s who of Southern Punjabi women. LADIESFUND President Tara Uzra Dawood came from Karachi to grace the occasion, which was hosted by SOS Multan founder Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh at the beautiful SOS Children’s Village Multan.<\/p>\n

Inaugural LADIESFUND Multan members include include aforementioned Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh, Rahat Bano Multanikar T.I, Dr. Shafqat Abdullah Samtia, Saima Faisal, Filza Mumtaz, Anam Tajjamul, Sarah Danish, Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani, Rameen Anis, and Muneeza Manzoor Butt.<\/p>\n

“As an empowered woman of Pakistan and having worked for the past 25 years to take Pakistan a more equitable and just society, I welcome the LADIESFUND Chapter to the City of Saints \u201c Multan,\u201d said Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh who hosted and chaired the inaugural meeting. “Women in South Punjab are breaking barriers and making significant strides, enriching their communities and inspiring future generations. The Multan chapter of the LADIESFUND plays a vital role in highlighting these accomplishments, amplifying the voices of these remarkable women and fostering a culture of recognition and appreciation.”<\/p>\n

This first meeting was held as a roundtable with introduction and discussion.<\/p>\n

“It was a real honour to be selected by LADIESFUND as one of the most dynamic and trailblazing women of Multan,” said LADIESFUND Multan member Rahat Bano Multanikar, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz honoree, musician, professor, and member of the board of Multan Electric Supply Company, and daughter of iconic singer Suraiya Multanikar. “The dialogue and networking was worthwhile use of time, and I look forward to LADIESFUND growing in Southern Punjab.”<\/p>\n

“It was an honour to meet and welcome Tara Uzra Dawood and LADIESFUND to Multan,” said Sarah Danish of Sarah’s Cakes. I was nominated to become a member by LADIESFUND Hyderabad member Nafees Usman, who has been praising LADIESFUND for the last several years.”<\/p>\n

“I am happy to be part of the LADIESFUND Multan and also am grateful, on behalf of Multan Nishtar Hospital, for the donation of wheelchairs made by Dawood Global Foundation & LADIESFUND to our hospital,” said Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani, Vice-Chancellor Multan Nishtar Hospital.<\/p>\n

“It is an honour and privilege to be here at the LADIESFUND Multan roundtable, surrounded by so many talented women from all walks of life,” said Anam Tajjamul, ASP Multan. Being the ASP of Multan – which is the most heaviest circle in all of Southern Punjab – I deal with murders, robberies, and all kinds of harrassment of women.”<\/p>\n

“I was late to the meeting due to my husband’s emergency surgery in Lahore, but drove 120 km to attend the launch of LADIESFUND Multan as well as personally meet Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood,” said Dr. Shafqat Abdullah Samtia who owns and operates three mills, as well as is a dermatologist.<\/p>\n

Some other members include Saima Faisal who owns and manages Ramada Multan and also co-founded Multan Matters with Filza Mumtaz. Muneeza Butt is District Women Protection Officer Multan and Manager of the Violence Against Women Centre Multan.<\/p>\n

Sarah Danish, founder of Sarah’s Cakes, created a stunning and delicious LADIESFUND Multan cake for the occasion which was cut and enjoyed by all. She also gifted Ms. Dawood a gift basket of her signature French maccarroons, Multani Sohan Halwa, and chocolate brownies with edible pictures of Ms. Dawood on them.
