Fall trends as seen at Fashion Week 2016.
Now that fashion week has come to a close, it’s time to crack the 2016 fall codes. Velvet and chokers are the staple trend this fall. How can anyone resist velvet with its soft touch, the silhouette, and the chic vibe that it exudes? It is definitely THE item of the season! The staple accessory for this season is the velvet choker. Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner were one of the first celebrities to rock out these accessories and now everyone is following suit. A black velvet choker is such a chic accessory that it will be perfect with any outfit. Gloves also made their way onto the runway and I’m not talking about leather ones. I’m taking about those early 1900’s gloves that you saw in the Great Gatsby that ooze elegance. Anyone ready to feel like English royalty, this winter?
Jackets hit the runway this season in all forms, from trench coats to revamped military jackets, puffer jackets and even hoodies! You can now rock that lazy look with pride! My personal favourite this season is the bomber jacket. It is the MVP of all jackets and comes in an array of colours and designs. A little trivia, bomber jackets were originally created for U.S. pilots during World War II. Continuing the list of all-season items are statement sleeves and over-the-knee boots. An undying trend, over-the-knee boots have been reigning supreme. A trench coat atop your boots or a dress and you’ll be ready to own the streets. I’m already excited about rebuilding my winter wardrobe. A rose pink knit sweater, paired with a black embroidered bomber jacket, dark wash skinny jeans, black over-the-knee boots and you’ve got yourself a knockout OOTD!
