Peshawar: Distribution by Dawood Global Foundation, in collaboration with OGDC, distributed 230 wheelchairs, including electric, sponsored to Al Huda International Welfare Foundation and Mahboob Medical Institute KPK. This is part of Dawood Global’s initiative to distribute 10,000 wheelchairs across Pakistan.
Mr. Ghulam Ali, Director General Law & Human Rights, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was Chief Guest at the first ceremony at Mahboob Medical Institute and Chief Guest Mr. Farmanullah Khan (DG NAB KPK) was Chief Guest of the second ceremony, along with Guest of Honour Romanian Honorary Consul General Mr. Masood Ahmad Qazi. Dr. Sana Rasheed, KPK Regional Representative of Dawood Global Foundation, and Mr. Wali Afridi, Regional Coordinator of OGDC presented the wheelchairs on the spot at each ceremony to deserving persons of disabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, DG Law & Human Rights appreciated the humanitarian efforts of Habib Foundation, Dawood Global Foundation and OGDC and highlighted the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s commitment towards the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, with a focus on inclusion, dignity, and accessibility.
Students and staff of MMI & HPC actively participated in the ceremony. On behalf of MMI, Chairman Dr. Mahboob ur Rahman expressed heartfelt gratitude to the honorable guests and generous donors for their valuable contribution toward community welfare.
