[Karachi, 9th July 2025] In the spirit of unity, compassion, and collective strength that defines Pakistan’s foundation, SOC Films, with two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy at the helm, proudly announce the launch of Frame It Forward. This storytelling campaign is dedicated to highlighting the impactful, yet often overlooked, work done by grassroots projects and nonprofit organisations in Pakistan.

One selected organization will have the opportunity to see its mission brought to life through a professionally produced short film, completely free of cost. Frame It Forward aims to spotlight the real people and stories driving meaningful change on the ground, across a variety of fields including education, climate, wildlife, children’s rights, refugee assistance, gender equality, and community health.

“Too often, vital work being done in the heart of our communities goes unseen simply because it isn’t being told,” said Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Founder and CEO of SOC Films. “Frame It Forward is our commitment to community – using the power of film to help elevate voices that deserve to be heard.”

Having previously created impactful, no-cost documentary films for organizations like ChildLife Foundation, KDSP, and Indus Hospital, SOC Films is now expanding this effort through Frame It Forward – inviting nonprofits nationwide to apply and have their stories brought to life.

Indeed, Frame It Forward is rooted in the belief that storytelling can be a powerful tool for fostering social change, connection, and visibility. Nonprofits and grassroots projects from all over Pakistan are encouraged to apply through an open application process. The deadline for application submission is July 25th, 2025.

The final film will be released publicly on August 14th, 2025, to coincide with Pakistan’s Independence Day. SOC Films will work closely with the selected initiative to conceptualize, shoot, and produce a short film that authentically captures their impact and mission.

With this campaign, SOC Films continues its longstanding commitment to socially driven narratives, offering high-quality visual storytelling to organizations that often lack the resources to share their stories with a wider audience.
