The Inspiration for this collection
Inspired by the Cherry Blossom, and the fragility and attractiveness of life in the Land of The Rising Sun, the collection offers an array of traditional and visual statements. The blooming flower has been used as a backdrop to convey the ephemerality inherent in life, and one’s transition through the years. The marvelous beauty of the iconic Sakura flowering tree provides the garments a fusion of sensuality, technique and art. Employing a stunning display of colours and exhibiting the house’s mastery in materials, the collection sheds light on the luminosity of youth and the growth of such attributes as vigor and maturity through the passage of time.

The Silhouettes and Fabrics
A striking look inspired by the oriental kimono pays ode to the intimacy within, shielded by a strong exterior, by utilizing a splendid mixture of textures and layers. Luxurious fabrics are swept around the body with multi-layers of soft tulle, satin and lame, whilst considered hand cut embellishment is used to implement an overall charm. The collection is strewn with bows imitating the storied flower both within the structure and through the silhouette.
In line with Al Ali’s feminine aesthetic, soft silhouettes are met with architecturally designed structures creating a sense of tranquility and harmony throughout the collection. The integration of a variety of complex design features in each garment echoes an effortless and contemporary feel.
The Colour Palette
A soft and subtle colour palette is used with shades of beige, touches of Creole pink, silver grey and Sakura prints conveying a fresh, graceful feel.
The Spring/Summer 2017 presentation took place at Hotel Ritz Paris, Salon d’ete, 15 place Vendome, 75001, Paris, France.
